Lorenzo and Jill Muti have extensive experience working with young people, both in the United States and abroad.
A native of Spoleto, Italy, Maestro Muti received his musical education at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, the Juilliard School in New York City, and the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy. He has conducted for both the Italian and American Spoleto Festivals, in major European cities, including Rome, Florence, Milan, London (London Symphony, BBC Symphony), Amsterdam (Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Opera Company), and for several American opera companies (Washington, Michigan, Connecticut, Providence). He was affiliated for over fifteen years with Duke University, where he taught music history and opera as well as conducted the orchestra. Maestro Muti is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle in Raleigh/Durham, NC. He is on the faculty of the College of Charleston and is the conductor of the orchestra. |
